Suspect May be Linked to 10 Crimes at University of New Mexico

A wandering thief has been making targets out of staff and students at the University of New Mexico for several months, all the while stealing every kind of item – anything from expensive calculators to books.

32 year old Ledonta Jenkins has been arrested by UNM Police on 3 felony counts of burglary. According to Lt. Robert Haarhues, “We are still in the investigative stage and we know that there are more victims out there, and we’ll work through the police reports and try to identify more victims and tie them to that case.”

University of New Mexico police is now working with UNM faculty and staff to cut down the hours campus buildings are open to the public in the hope of preventing thefts a lot better.
