Career Criminal Suspected in Waldwick Robbery

The 59-year old career criminal, John Edward Stevens, was arrested for being a suspect in the robbery of a TD Bank branch in Waldwick. Sgt. Robert Woessner stopped the suspect’s car in Paramus Road and arrested him without incident.

Stevens was charged with possession of a stolen vehicle, eluding arrest and two counts of possession of stolen property, unlawful possession of a weapon by a convicted felon, and unlawful possession of a weapon.

According to reports, Stevens had been convicted of bank robberies and was just released from prison earlier this year after having served his 25-year sentence.
