Ex-Marian Football Star in Prison for DUI Accident

Phillip M. Ryan IV, who once signed a contract to play football in the NFL, was sent to prison after admitting last Wednesday that he was under the influence of drugs when he caused an accident in June of 2012. The accident caused serious injury to another motorist.

Ryan pleaded guilty of DUI, careless driving and violation of restrictions on alcoholic beverages, and recklessly endangering another person. Judge James P. Goodman sentenced him to spend one to six months in prison and another 18 months on probation.
