Hillsborough Circuit Judge Tracy Sheehan is likely to keep her job following a weekend arrest for DUI.
Chief Judge Manuel Menendez Jr., doesn’t intend to discipline Sheehan, and in similar cases reviewed by the Tampa Bay Times, Florida judges who are accused of a first-time DUI arrest will keep their jobs. Sheehan told the Times that what she made was a terrible decision and deeply regrets that it reflect poorly on the judiciary.
Menendez said that it spoke volumes that Sheehan already admitted her mistake. He also hasn’t heard from anyone asking that the judge be either removed or reassigned. Sheehan currently hears civil , probate, and family law cases in Plant City.
