Lawyer Suspected of $3M Theft Suspended

A South Florida attorney has been suspended due to the suspicion of theft of more than $3 million worth of money from his firm’s accounts. The Florida Supreme Court was responsible for the suspension.
The court issued the suspension Thursday, two days after the Florida Bar asked justices to suspend the license of Timothy McCabe of Boca Raton. Court documents show that McCabe allegedly took money from his firm’s trust accounts where clients’ funds are deposited.
An email to a partner and his wife implied that he had committed something grave and meant to set them right. His wife has not seen McCabe since early this month and he has not answered his cell phone since. Because of this, the police filled a missing persons report.
