Officer’s Status Still Unclear After DUI Case Was Dropped

Officials have not yet decided whether to bring back an officer from the Orangeburg Department of Public Safety who was suspended after a DUI charge. However, the charge was dismissed earlier this year. According to ODPS Chief Wendell Davis, the agency and city officials are mulling Kenneth Pifer’s future with the agency. The 30-year-old officer is still on suspension and his case is still under review.

Pifer was charged with first-offense DUI in January with a .10 blood alcohol level after his personal vehicle crashed on Russell Street just outside the city limits.
