Whitey Bulger Guilty on Federal Racketeering Charges and Some Murders

James “Whitey” Bulger has eluded FBI investigators for 16 years; he has built a reputation as one of the most ruthless mobsters in Boston. He was found guilty last Monday on the charges of racketeering and some of the murders he was accused of.

83-year-old Bulger was charged with participating in 19 murders and 13 counts of extortion and money laundering. He faced 32 counts in total. He is sentenced to death. According to WCVB, Bulger left the courtroom and reportedly gave the thumbs up to his brother Jack, and someone yelled, “Rat a tat tat, Whitey”.
